Located in the International Quarter Stratford, overlooking the Olympic park, the brand new BBC studio will house the BBC Concert Orchestra and Proms teams. The building includes a 300 person auditorium, recording studios and practice spaces.
INDRATEC were asked to take over the project from another supplier in order to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the already installed grey water recycling system. The system collects the grey water from the building’s wash hand basins in a tank located in the basement, pumps the water up to the designated plant room where it will be filtered via a membrane bioreactor (MBR) and then distributes it across the development for WC flushing.
We supplied and installed more suitable filters for both the pre and post-filtration phases as well as an improved aeration system for the optimal aerobic breakdown of particulates to maximise the performance of the existing membrane filters. We also added backwash sequences to all filters to minimise future maintenance interventions and commissioned the full working system.
Together, these systems enhance water resilience while reducing environmental impact, supporting the building’s performance against BREEAM and LEED sustainability targets.
